Our mission is to promote Emergency and Disaster preparedness in Marshall County and the surrounding areas by providing backup communications if a situation arises.
To promote our mission we hold weekly nets. For more information on them click on the word NETS
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Rescue Squad Building on Ash Street in Benton at 1900 hours (7 PM) and our meetings are open to anyone wishing to attend.
At the November 20th, 2007 meeting, MCARA approved its BYLAWS. To see the content of them click on the word BYLAWS.

We have a VHF Repeater located near Draffenville, KY that operates on a frequency of 145.390 MHz with a minus offset and has a 118.8 Hz access tone. Each Wednesday at 9 PM we conduct a net and all licensed Amateur Radio Operators are welcome to check in. As of December 2009 this site is interfaced to ECHOLINK as callsign KI4HUS-R or node number of 328811.
We also have a UHF Repeater located at the Fairdealing-Olive Fire Station in Fairdealing, KY that operates on a frequency of 443.500 MHz with a plus offset and has a 118.8 Hz access tone. This site is interfaced to ECHOLINK as callsign KI4HUS-L or node number 306102.

Here is a link to our friends in the Princton area at w4kbl.org and as of the middle of December 2007 there is "A New Kid On The Block" with the turn on of a second repeater in Caldwell County: KY4KEN operating on 147.195 MHz with 136.5 tone.
